This is the image for the news article titled Campus Turnaround Plan Hearing Notice NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Texas Accountability Intervention System Campus Turnaround Plans A public hearing to review the Campus Turnaround Plans of current improvement required campuses will be held May 17, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the BISD Board room as part of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees. Improvement required campuses are those schools that were rated as Improvement Required in 2015 as part of the state accountability system. Campuses include O. A. Fleming Elementary School, Jane Long Elementary School, Velasco Elementary School and O’Hara Lanier Middle School. Each campus was rated improvement required for the third consecutive year and was required to write a Turnaround Plan that identified and developed a turnaround initiative to correct the systemic root cause to their continued low performance. A turnaround initiative is a systemic approach that comprehensively changes an improvement required campus and produces significant and sustainable gains in achievement and a Met Standard rating within two years. The turnaround initiative addresses the systemic root cause through work across campus support systems and a majority of the critical success factors that most impact improved student achievement.
