As part of the National Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 5, we invite our community members to come to the BISD Board Room in the Administration Building to pray and/or to leave positive messages of encouragement for our nation, campuses, students, staff and leadership. Stop by anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 301 West Brazoswood Drive in Clute (across from Brazoswood High School).
2016 will be the 65th National Day of Prayer where people all over the nation come together to pray for federal, state, and local governments. In 1952, President Harry Truman signed into law a bill proclaiming an annual National Day of Prayer and in 1988 a law was passed by Congress and signed by President Ronald Reagan designating the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer. President Reagan commented, “On our National Day of Prayer, then, we join together as people of many faiths to petition God to show us His mercy and His love, to heal our weariness and uphold our hope, that we might live ever mindful of His justice and thankful for His blessing."
