17 BISD Librarians attended the Texas Library Association Conference last week in Houston. LeVar Burton, Al Roker, and Dave Pilkey offered inspiration for the library profession.
With over 200 additional speakers and 300 programs to choose from, BISD librarians returned rejuvenated and ready to make changes in our libraries and programs. Makerspaces, reading programs, innovative technologies and BOOKS are just some of the new things teachers and students have in store for them.
MackinVia is Brazosport ISD's digital portal and our own Michelle Griffith is taking that tool to new and exciting levels for students and teachers. She recently presented in the Mackin Educational Resources booth at the Texas Library Association Conference in Houston. Michelle is a technology enthusiast who believes that this tool will help to change the way BISD students access digital resources. Single sign on access to all our digital resources makes it easy for students and teachers to integrate not only ebooks, databases and audio books, but also Google Drive, Google Classroom, Padlet, Buncee, Symbaloo among others. With standing room only at all her presentations she showcased how Brannen and many of our other BISD schools are using MackinVia to impact student achievement. Thank you to all of our wonderful librarians that are working hard to make BISD the place to be! BISD Librarians ROCK!
