Brazoswood Band Students Receive National Honors
The recognitions just keep rolling in for two Brazoswood Buc Band instrumentalists, Travis Bartholome and Nathan Cloeter.
Travis Bartholome was one of 48 high school saxophonists from across North America invited to perform with the saxophone ensemble at the North American Saxophone Alliance biennial conference in Lubbock, Texas, March 9-13. Along with this honor, Travis won the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra’s (BSO) Young Artist competition and will perform portions of the “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra” by Paul Creston with the BSO at their May 14th concert.
Another Brazoswood band student Nathan Cloeter, an All-State French Horn player, was selected to participate in the National Youth Orchestra-USA 2. The program includes a 2 week camp with high school students from across the country in a full symphony orchestra and culminates with the young musicians performing with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra at Verizon Hall in Philadelphia on July 2nd.
