BISD's 3-Year Strategic Plan is Complete - Thank You Community Members and Staff!
After months of planning and input from nearly 100 parents, community members and staff, BISD has finalized a new 3-Year Strategic Plan.
A Strategic Plan is a thoughtful, purposeful plan developed by district stakeholders. An effective Strategic Plan encompasses all facets of an organization and determines the organization’s long-term goals and the action steps needed in order to accomplish those goals.
The process began with a 20-member Strategic Planning Committee (pictured) who met and identified specific categories and strategies to address as part of the plan. In December, Action Teams were formed for each of the 12 strategies developed. Each Action Team had a total of 5-8 members representing teachers, parents and business partners. These groups met over the next three months to develop a plan and action steps for each strategy. The objective was to be able to hand these guidelines to the appropriate department within the district so they could put a plan into action to fulfill each strategy. In March, Action Team Leaders presented the action plans to the Strategic Planning Committee for approval.

We believe this Strategic Plan will effectively guide the district as it establishes measurable action items that hold accountability ensuring that the plan is followed. This has been a major undertaking, and everyone involved is quite proud of the outcome.
