Miss Eighme’s 2nd grade class is SFA's Tech Classroom of the month for March. Her favorite tech tool to use this year with her students is Kahoot. Kahoot is a web-based game that can be accessed from any device. It is made from a series of multiple choice questions where teachers can add videos, photos, or diagrams to make it engaging. The Kahoot is projected in the class and a code is shared with the students to log in to the quiz. Students compete to see who can answer the quickest and correctly. At the end of each question students can see their ranking in class. The students in Miss Eighme’s class love this part of the quiz. It becomes a huge competition in her classroom. Miss Eighme sums it up by saying, “Kahoot is a fun and engaging way to assess my kids in class. I like to see their results to see who understands and who does not. With everyone having their own Chromebook this year, all my kids can participate at the same time.”

Several of the students in Miss Eighme’s class were interviewed about Kahoot. Here is what they had to say:

“It’s like a game. You win and get a million points!” ~ Matty

“I like that it is noisy and you learn more about stuff.” ~ Clayton

“It has cool music.” ~ Alianna

“It helps me learn more. When you answer it and get it wrong it tells you. So you know what you got wrong.” ~ CoCo

“I like that it helps you learn by having fun.” ~ Sofia

“I like the problems!” ~ Anaya
