Jump Rope for Heart Campaign a Success
Brazosport ISD schools along with schools across the United States join together yearly in the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart campaigns. Students that participate in the program learn Physical Education lessons in jump rope and basketball skills, but more importantly gain valuable knowledge for developing heart-healthy lifestyle habits and how to help kids with heart-health issues.
Chris Hutchison praised the effort by stating, “In the 35 year history of Jump Rope for Heart, the American Heart Association has impacted many lives. The American Heart Association has helped to reduce the number of people dying from heart disease and stroke by 25%. BISD kids have greatly helped this effort by raising funds to continue this work. Some of our students benefit directly from The Heart Association and all of our students learn the importance of a healthy lifestyle and giving back to your community.”
Brazosport ISD has 9 campuses that participated this year and raised donations for The American Heart Association.
