Exporter Soccer Team in 2nd Round of Playoffs
Brazosport Varsity boys' soccer team beat Columbia Saturday at Hopper Field, 5-1. It was the start of the second round of district play. Our boys were ready for the challenge and scored three goals in the first half and put two more in at the end to put the game away. Columbia is always tough & they tied us early in the season when we started district play. The scoring started with Kevin Poulson scoring on a feed from Isaiah Waddy early in the first half which was followed by a second score by Alejandro Bravo. Rigoberto Cardenas scored right before the half. In the second half we had scores by Erick Covarrubias and Jessie Arredondo to put the game out of reach. Columbia scored a goal with about twenty minutes left and we had to regroup to get the game under control. Exporters play Needville Monday, February 22 in Needville at 5 pm. Overall record is 11-1-3 and district record is 6-0-1.
Outstanding job, Exporters!
