Rocketry Class Breaks the Sound Barrier
BISD students designed, built, and flew this rocket through the sound barrier. Preliminary data shows the MPH at a minimum of 913 (Mach1:19) and an altitude of 8,928 feet. The rocket was recovered intact and ready to fly again. Thank you Tripoli Rocketry for donating supplies to help make this mission a reality. BISD teacher Dale Hobbs and his students, Kush Kummer, Carson Goodwin, Brendan McKay, Eric Hembling, Michael Blackmar and Jackson Wedelich all utilize engineering systems to build and test rockets through the SystemsGo Aeroscience program at Brazoswood High (endorsed by NASA and Certified by The Space Foundation).
