Seven BISD Campuses Earn a Total of Ten State Distinctions

The Brazosport Independent School District is pleased to share that the state accountability system has rated our district the highest rating possible of “Met Standard” in the area of student performance. Additionally, we are very excited to announce that seven campuses earned a total of ten distinctions this year! This is an improvement over last year when four campuses earned a total of six distinctions.

“With six of the ten distinctions in the categories of Student Progress and Closing Performance Gaps, it shows the effectiveness of our student intervention and professional learning communities initiatives,” said Superintendent Danny Massey.

We are very proud of our students outstanding achievement and the efforts of our teachers and administrators ensuring our students a quality education.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in areas based on student performance compared to a group of 40 campuses across the state of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Brannen Elementary earned three distinctions:
Reading/English Language Arts
Closing Achievement Gaps
Postsecondary Readiness

Ogg Elementary earned two distinctions:
Math
Closing Achievement Gaps

Beutel earned one distinction:
Student Progress

Roberts Elementary earned one distinction:
Closing Achievement Gaps

Freeport Intermediate earned one distinction:
Student Progress

Lake Jackson Intermediate earned one distinction:
Student Progress

Brazoswood High School earned one distinction:
Math
