The third Leadership BISD 2016-17 session was held this week at Brazosport High School. The meeting began with Superintendent Danny Massey’s District of Innovation
Providing an in-depth look at state standards and required accountability, BISD’s Curriculum and Instruction team, led by Chief Academic Officer Clara Sale-Davis, guided community and business partners through lessons based on TEKS and sample STAR test questions.
Brazosport High School Culinary Arts instructor Valerie Jansky and her students shared their gastronomic skills by preparing and serving a lunch of cheese stuffed meatloaf, French green beans, hot rolls and a warm praline cake to the group.
Director of CTE Jennifer Edenfield provided information about the many career and technical education courses offered in BISD. Mrs. Edenfield then escorted the Leadership group through various Brazosport High School CTE classrooms where community members had the opportunity to see the programs in action.
Leadership BISD is designed for the purpose of giving community/business partners an in-depth look at the district and its operations, to become an advocate of BISD. Four sessions are hosted by our Public Relations Department and locations vary throughout the district. The last session for the 2016-17 team will be led by Student Services on January 25, at Clute Intermediate School.
