Brazosport Independent School District has invited The Rose
, a mobile mammography unit, to set up at several district locations throughout the month of January.
As with any medical exam or procedure, the majority of a person’s time is spent traveling to and from a site, as well as with the time spent in the waiting room. Offering this service on-site provides an incentive for employees to have this life-saving procedure done with little disruption to the classroom.
“Early detection is essential in the effective treatment of this disease,” said Superintendent Danny Massey. “Our hope is that with the convenience of having The Rose
in walking distance of most of our facilities, more of our employees will take advantage of this preventative measure.”
Employees simply schedule a time and fill out paperwork online ahead of time. Then they show up for their exam, which for many will be only a few steps away from their classroom or office.
