Nathan Cloeter will take his musical skills worldwide this summer after being chosen for The Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America.
Cloeter, a sophomore at Brazoswood High School, will join 96 other musicians ages 16 to 19 who will perform in Mexico City, Ecuador, Colombia, and Carnegie Hall this summer. Nathan will work alongside top professionals and perform under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas, a recipient of 11 Grammy awards for his recordings, Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony, Founder and Artistic Director of the New World Symphony and Conductor Laureate of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Brazoswood’s Band Director Brian Casey said he is extremely proud of Nathan’s accomplishment and excited that he will be able to build a network of talented musicians who he can continue to learn from so early in his life. “This kid is on his way to super stardom,” he said. “He is truly one of the most gifted and dedicated students on the planet.”
