Dr. Eric Westerman

1964 Graduate of Brazosport High School

 After graduation from Brazosport High School, Eric Westerman attended Univeristy of Texas and graduated in 1968. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1972. Dr. Westerman did his residency in internal medicine and chose to specialize in the field of infectious diseases. Doctors from all over the country have referred their patients to Dr. Westerman for treatment. Most significantly, Dr. Westerman was one of the first doctors to treat patients suffering from AIDS.

Dr. Westerman has been an associate professor for Oklahoma University Medical School and Baylor College of Medicine. His most recent work has been his research on ticks and the treatment of Lyme disease. Dr. Westerman has published numerous medical articles and has been sited as an expert in the field of infectious diseases. His expertise spans from the treatment of Lyme disease to the treatment of the common cold. Dr. Westerman has served as Chief of Infectious Diseases, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (Tulsa, OK); Senior Vice President, Physician Services Organization, Hillcrest HealthCare System (Tulsa, OK); and President and Medical Director, Partnership Health Organization (Tulsa, OK). Most recently he serves as Medical Director for the Internal Medicine Department, Baylor Clinic (Houston, TX).

Dr. Westerman is a two time winner of the Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors [2006 & 2007] and was awarded a Certificate in Medical and Healthcare Management by the joint Executive Education Program at Rice University/Baylor College of Medicine.
