BISD Hosts Baby Shower for Expectant Staff, Featuring Giveaways and Self-Care Tips
Brazosport Independent School District employees who are expecting or adopting soon were honored at a baby shower event held on March 7, 2023. BISD currently has 37 expectant staff members, including moms and dads working within the district.
“Birth or adoption of a baby is the most important event in a person's life. Having a baby changes one's perspective on life and creates an entire new meaning of love,” Superintendent Danny Massey shared. “We are so grateful to be able to support our staff in this miracle of life experience.”
During the event, benefits providers generously donated great giveaways to the expectant parents. These giveaways included items such as gift cards, baby clothes, “Daddy diaper bags”, a pack-n-play, Ninja Blender, and other baby essentials. The employees were also treated to a guest speaker, Jennifer Monical FNP-C of Brazosport Women’s Health and Urban Well, who shared valuable tips on pre and postpartum self-care, which included tips on staying healthy physically and emotionally during pregnancy and after.
In addition to the giveaways and guest speaker, the employees were also provided with information on how to add their new additions to their insurance plans. This information was provided by the district's benefits providers, who were present at the event to answer any questions the employees had. Our HR team was also on hand to answer any questions about leave and available benefits.
The baby shower, which was organized by the district’s human resources department, also featured delicious snacks made by culinary students from the district's CTE program. The menu consisted of strawberry balsamic with goat cheese crostini, roasted sweet potato bites with avocado and bacon, caprese skewers, and an assortment of sweet treats and danishes.

We can’t wait to see all the updates and pictures of our newest BISD babies.”
The district remains committed to its employees and their families and will continue to provide support and resources to help them navigate all of life's milestones, including the exciting arrival of new family members.
