This is the image for the news article titled BISD Joins TIA to Bring Higher Pay to Participating TeachersBrazosport ISD is excited to announce that we have been approved to join the Teacher Incentive Allotment which will allow teachers to earn significantly larger salaries.

The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) was created by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 as a pathway to help recruit, retain, and reward effective educators. Brazosport ISD joins many school districts in the Houston Area participating in the program, and is the only district in Southern Brazoria County approved so far.

Through this program, teachers will have the opportunity to earn designations carrying substantial financial awards, upward of over $20,000 annually, reducing the desire for highly effective teachers to leave the classroom. Teacher performance, student growth measures, and teacher attendance will determine if a teacher becomes designated. Some employees will be automatically designated and eligible if they are Nationally Board Certified and/or were designated by their previous District.

All funds received through this program are in addition to normal state funding. Meaning, extra dollars are sent from the state, specifically for teacher salary. We are excited to be able to reward teachers for their dedicated efforts to serve the students of this community.

Only certified educators may earn this designation. Some employees will be automatically designated and eligible if they are Nationally Board Certified and/or were designated by their previous District.
