Olivia will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for about 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million in the spring of 2023.

The NMSC competition began with about 1.5 million students from over 22,000 high schools across the nation. As a Finalist, Olivia ranks in the top 0.5% of students across the country.

Olivia is the daughter of William and Leila Mulholland of Lake Jackson. She is active in multiple areas on the Brazoswood campus and community. Olivia has been involved with Lady Buc Athletics, Honor Society, Art and Rocketry. She is a varsity volleyball player who earned 24-6A All District Honorable Mention, All District Academic Team and All County Newcomer of the Year. Olivia currently serves as the Secretary of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Goddard Rocketry Team. She has also received a Blue Ribbon at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show for her spectacular art.

Olivia is also highly involved outside of campus by volunteering with Our Lady Queen of Peace School and St. Michael’s Youth Ministry, along with being an accomplished pianist. After High School, she intends to major in Biomedical or Chemical Engineering.

“This outstanding accomplishment speaks to the quality of education our students receive every day in our schools,” said Superintendent Danny Massey.

The PSAT is offered to all Brazoswood Juniors in October which enters them in the National Merit competition.
