Goodling has spent the last 12 years of his career as a Head Soccer coach, first for Dumas High School in the Texas panhandle, and then for Joshua High School, south of the Fort Worth area. Goodling leaves Joshua ISD with a record of 160/98/66, having taken his teams to the playoffs 6 of the 12 years, landing them in the third round of Regional Quarterfinals 3 times.

“We are excited to have Coach Thad Goodling joining the soccer program at Brazoswood High School,” stated BISD Athletic Director Jay Zeller. “Coach Goodling has an outstanding reputation as a coach and as an educator. Thad has been named UIL District Coach of the Year for his exceptional leadership on and off the field.”

Thad Goodling earned his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and his master's from Concordia Lutheran University, Irvine, in coaching and athletic administration. Coach Goodling not only coached school soccer but he has also coached club and league soccer for his children’s soccer teams.

“I am honored and humbled to be able to work at Brazoswood High School. I look forward to building the Buccaneer Boys Soccer Program as well as to bring stability and growth for the individual players, staff, and the community,” said Thad Goodling.

Coach Goodling and his wife Camber will move to BISD this summer with their 5 children, 4 daughters and 1 son. The Goodlings have an incoming junior, freshman, 6th grader, 4th grader, and a three-year-old. They are all looking forward to making Brazoswood their home.
