Honoring their commitment to support public education in the Brazosport area, BASF Freeport has donated a total of $100,000 to the Brazosport ISD Education Foundation since 2015. Their support has allowed the Foundation to fund several grants throughout BISD, specifically grants impacting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math along with supporting BISD’s workforce development programs within our Career and Technology Education Department.

“Great schools just don’t happen. Our students and staff benefit greatly from the support of our community partners. BISD and the Foundation value our well-established partnership with BASF,” said Superintendent Danny Massey. “With the support from BISD’s dedicated partners such as BASF, pathways to prepare and motivate students to enter careers in science and engineering are flourishing and the opportunities for students at Brazosport ISD is limitless.”

BASF recently bestowed $20,000 to the BISD Education Foundation for their Grants for Great Ideas Program. These funds and others generously donated by our community and staff greatly enhance learning in BISD. The Foundation’s primary focus is supporting innovative and creative educational programs through its Grants for Great Ideas Program. “We support these educational initiatives through our annual Grants for Great Ideas grant cycle, which has awarded over $300,000 since its inception in 2015. BASF has played an integral role in ensuring the financial sustainability of the Foundation so that we can continue to support education in BISD for generations to come!” shared Foundation Executive Director Brittany Rosenbohm.

“BASF Freeport believes in having a strong relationship with our school district and college. Not only do we contribute through grants and other funding, our site employees also donate well over 500 hours of their time ‘outside the gates’ every year to volunteer in our schools and community, a service we as a company support and encourage,” said BASF Sr. Vice President and Freeport Site Manager Chris Witte.

“We are so thankful for community partners, like BASF. Without their support, and the support of so many others, we would not be able to impact education in the ways we have been able to over the past 5 years. BASF’s donation of $100,000 since 2015 has probably touched thousands of students' lives in a variety of ways. We truly appreciate their generosity,” stated Drew Lindsey, Foundation president.
