The award highlights Mrs. Padilla-Zapata for her dedication to making a difference in the community by connecting families in need with resources to support them.

As the district social worker, Joana works tirelessly to help support struggling students and families by providing wrap-around services. She is well respected throughout the school community as an individual with a heart for students and a strong work ethic.

Joana was nominated by one of her peers in the Brazoria County Community Resource Coordination Group (BCRCG) for her commitment to the families of our community. She was recognized during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, February 22, 2024. Her nomination recognized her as a relentless advocate for families and a dependable resource for the community.

Community Resource Coordination Groups (CRCG) state on their website that they are ‘county-based groups of local partners and community members who work with parents, caregivers, children, youth, and adults with complex needs to identify and coordinate services and support.’ When one group cannot meet all of the needs a family has, the BCRCG steps in to help coordinate services.

Brazosport ISD is proud of Joana Paddilla-Zapata and her work in the school district as well as her work as the co-chair for the Brazoria County Resource Coordination Group.
