Brazosport ISD is proud to join school districts across the nation on May 8, 2024 to honor the exceptional work of school nurses who make a positive difference in the lives of our students every day. This year, we celebrate the contributions of our dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) who serve our campuses.
Our school nurses provide a wide range of critical services to ensure the overall health and well-being of our students and staff. They are skilled in assessing the ill and injured, providing emergency care, performing special medical procedures, and caring for children with special needs.They also render first aid for minor accidents, implement policies and procedures for the control of communicable diseases, provide vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings, maintain height, weight, and immunization records, and administer medications. Moreover, they provide essential health programs to students such as dental care, handwashing, hygiene, and maturation films.
BISD school nurses provide more than healthcare; they are an integral part of the school community, providing essential support and care to students with kindness and compassion, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for our students.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our school nurses for their tremendous work and dedication in meeting the needs of our students. During Nurses week and throughout the school year, we take the opportunity to recognize and honor them for their exceptional contributions to improving health and learning outcomes for our students.
