Brazoswood High School, Brazoswood High School Ninth Grade Center, Clute Intermediate, Rasco Middle and Lanier Elementary
Rasco Middle School joins Clute Intermediate, Lanier Elementary, and Brazoswood’s main and ninth grade campuses in being named as Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools
TM by the Flippen Group for the upcoming school year. These five schools have been recognized for their commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and parents.
By implementing the Capturing Kids’ HeartsⓇ processes, teachers and staff aim to enhance students’ connections with their peers and adults on campus. This creates an engaging classroom environment where students feel inspired to learn every day. Notably, Clute Intermediate School has achieved this distinction for five consecutive years and Brazoswood High and Lanier have earned this award for the past four years.
BISD Superintendent Danny Massey commended the staff's dedication in establishing meaningful connections with their students and each other. “This national award highlights the importance of ensuring student success through building and prioritizing genuine, supportive connections,” he stated.
The Flippen Group considered Capturing Kids’ Hearts campuses across the country for these awards based on three criteria: nomination based on observation, level of implementation of Capturing Kids’ Hearts processes by all staff as measured by online surveys, and data demonstrating that Capturing Kids’ Hearts has made a significant improvement in attendance, student management, climate/culture, or academics.
A Flippen Group team visited each nominated campus to gather additional quantitative and qualitative data, interviewing students, teachers, administrators, and parents. During the campus walk-through, they used a matrix of key measurements to gather information. Finally, an additional survey was conducted to collect feedback on the perceived climate and culture of the campus and its conduciveness to learning. The selection team reviewed all accumulated data and chose the schools that would receive the Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools awards.
